One more bit of adulting advice

gothiccharmschool:

Don’t hate-read. You know what I’m talking about. Are there blogs or people who automatically make you clench your jaw and roll your eyes? Or always trigger a reaction of “Oh dear angels and spirits, not them/this AGAIN?”  Stop reading their stuff. Don’t seek it out, no matter how much ranty entertainment you feel it may be.

Hate-reading is a drain of your time and energy.

(Note: I am posting this as a REMINDER TO MYSELF, because I fall into that trap, too.)

It’s a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won’t be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It’s a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It’s a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don’t aim so high that you won’t be hitting anything!

everything u need to know about me can actually be explained by the fact that i read that poem about the serving girl wearing the pearls so they’re warm for her mistress when i was like 11 and it rewrote my brain chemistry forever

It’s so wild how many grown adults can’t grasp such a basic concept like “if you are nicer to strangers they will usually be nicer to you in return”

I work a job where I interact with the public. If my customers are nice and pleasant I will bend over backwards for them. If my customers are unpleasant I will do the absolute minimum as required to not get in trouble. I’ll never not do my job, but by god I can and will do the bare minimum.

really glad that I have curated my fandom experience such that every time I see a post complaining about the rampant demonization or hatred of a female character I don’t even know who they could possibly be referring to because my dash is 100% support for women’s wrongs. I cannot think of the last time I saw a condemnation of a fictional woman even though I am assured that it is happening somewhere. on my dash a woman can literally eat people and the whole chat will still stan her
